Do you have any Covid-19 restrictions at Fantasticon?

Yes. We follow the authorities’ guidelines (as well as the Danish laws, of course). We have a webpage about Covid-19 here.

Can I smoke at Fantasticon?

No. During Fantasticon smokers must go outside. There is a big garden where smoking is allowed.

Is it possible to attend Fantasticon if I can’t use stairs?

Unfortunately not. The venue is an old building with a lot of stairs.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

No. You can buy beer and other drinks at the bar. Saturday and Sunday you can also buy food at the bar. But there are many places nearby where you can eat.

What is this “Meet & Greet”?

It has become a tradition at many sf/fantasy conventions that there is an informal gathering the evening before the con begins. Typically in a cafe/pub. To meet up with other participants, the Guests of Honor, the con-committee, and others. This is especially a very good idea for those who are new to conventions, as you will keep meeting people you have already met Thursday evening during the con. They will know you as you are already a part of the family!
Ufortunately we are too busy planning the the convention here in 2021, so there won’t be a Meet & Greet. But if you come on friday, there won’t be so many people and thing are a bit more informal (though a convention like Fantasticon is far from as formal as a typical book fair).

What is a “dead dog party” and do you have one?

It’s a tradition from many sf/fantasy conventions that there will be an informal gathering of those who attended the convention and wants to talk a little more with the other fans, and maybe have a beer or two. There will be a dead dog party after Fantasticon, at the Hotel Fy & Bi Bar Restaurant – the premier hang out for Copenhagen science fiction/fantasy/horror fans. From about 17:30 Sunday. Unfortunately, it closes at 19:00, but then we will go to a restaurant nearby to eat. We would like you to put your name on a list no later than saturday at 18:00 if you want go to the restaurant, so we can reserve a table.
