Fantasticon 2013 is over. Thanks to everyone who participated. We hope you had a good time, even though we had to evacuate the “Writing in English”-panel on Saturday because of an extremely loud punk rock-concert and the almost comical double-bookings of rooms (a music teacher on Saturday and the Christ Embassy people on Sunday).

But enough about this year’s Fantasticon for now. We can already announce that Fantasticon will return in 2014 and will take place at June 14th-15th. The location has yet to be decided but it will most likely be in the Copenhagen area.

And we not only have a date. We are proud to announce that award-winning British science fiction-author Paul McAuley will be our Guest of Honour. Paul won the Philip K. Dick Award for his first novel Four Hundred Billion Stars (1988), while Fairyland (1996) won both the Arthur C. Clarke Award and the John W. Campbell Memorial Award for best science fiction novel. He is also known for the Four Hundred Billion Stars Series, The Confluence Series and The Quiet War Series, which consist of the novels The Quiet War (2008), Gardens of the Sun (2009), In the Mouth of the Whale (2012) and Evening’s Empires (2013). His most recent publication is the short story collection A Very British History.
